Julian Paine
Julian joined the provincial public service in 1986 with the Ministry of Finance and Corporate Relations after several years as a management consultant in Victoria. He worked for seven years as a Treasury Board Analyst where his assignments involved all of the major economic development ministries and Crown Corporations of government, culminating with the Ministry of Forests for the final two years.
In 1994, he transferred to the newly created Forest Renewal BC as Director of Policy and Program Development for Forestry and Environment Programs. In 1997 he was promoted to Executive Director, Corporate Planning and Evaluation, a role he filled for two years prior to his move to the Ministry of Forests in November, 1999. Julian left Ministry of Forests in 2005 after holding the position of Executive Director, Tenure and Revenue, responsible for the overall direction of the tenure reallocation process and compensation matters related to this ministry initiative, to become Assistant Deputy Minister, Strategic Initiatives with the Ministry of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation.
Julian received a BSc and MPA from the University of Victoria. He is married with two children.
