Master – Apprentice Program

The Master-Apprentice Program (MAP) of the First Peoples’ Heritage, Language and Culture Council was developed to address the need to develop new fluent speakers. MAP is an immersion-based language program that pairs a “master” (a fluent speaker of a language) with an “apprentice” (a committed learner with little or no fluency in the language). The Master-Apprentice team spends a concentrated amount of time together every week in a natural setting where all activities are conducted in the target language.
