Negotiations
The Acho Dene Koe entered the treaty process in November 2000,
and is now in Stage
2 of the six-stage process, preparing to begin negotiations.
The British Columbia Treaty Commission is waiting for a response
from British Columbia respecting the negotiation of a treaty.
The Deh Cho First Nations signed Treaty 11
with the Government of Canada in the early 1900s. Negotiations
with the Deh Cho, Canada and the government of the Northwest Territories
are ongoing.
Current Activities
British Columbia is assessing its position regarding transboundary
negotiations with the Acho Dene Koe.
