Partners sign historic Child and Family Wellness Accord
VICTORIA – The leadership of the nine south island First Nations and urban Aboriginal community, known as the South Island Wellness Society and the Province of B.C. signed a historic accord that will forge a relationship to design and develop an indigenous child services system for the care and protection of Aboriginal children, youth and families in the region.

Community social services workers ratify agreement
VICTORIA – Aboriginal Services members of the Community Social Services Bargaining Association have ratified a two-year agreement with the Community Services Employers’ Association under the government’s 2010 mandate.

Chetwynd and First Nations to manage local forests
VICTORIA – A community forest agreement for Chetwynd will enable the municipality and First Nations to manage local forest resources for timber, recreation and cultural values, Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations Steve Thomson announced today.
