FIRST NATIONS, B.C. BUILD NEW RESOURCE PARTNERSHIPS
VICTORIA – New agreements signed by the Province and Blueberry River First Nations provide economic benefits and a critical First Nations voice in land and resource decision-making in the Peace River area, Minister of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation Michael de Jong announced.

FUNDING TO SUPPORT MÉTIS BC150 CELEBRATIONS
VICTORIA – The Province is providing $150,000 funding to Métis Nation British Columbia to support projects and events in celebration of B.C.’s 150th anniversary, Tourism, Culture and the Arts Minister Bill Bennett and Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation Minister Michael de Jong announced.

$27M IN SHARED BENEFITS FOR NORTHEAST FIRST NATIONS
VICTORIA – First Nations in northeastern British Columbia are benefiting from economic benefits agreements that provide a share of resource development revenues across their traditional territory and a solid foundation for increased participation in the regional economy.

PROVINCE AND UBCM RENEW COMMITMENT TO FIRST NATIONS
PENTICTON – The Province and the Union of British Columbia Municipalities have signed a memorandum of understanding to work together on the negotiation and implementation of agreements encompassed by the New Relationship with First Nations, Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation Minister Michael de Jong announced today.
