Nanaimo-Parksville MLA Ron Cantelon joins BC Assembly of First Nations Regional Chief Shawn Atleo and Malaspina University College President Rich Johnston at Malaspina's Centre for Shellfish Research in Nanaimo. On behalf of Minister Colin Hansen (Minister of Economic Development) and Minister Tom Christensen (Minister of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation) MLA Cantelon announced provincial funding of $2.25 million to train up to 500 First Nations and coastal residents to participate in the growing seafood industry over the next five years.
