TREATY BUILDS FUTURE FOR FIVE FIRST NATIONS – November 21, 2007
Left to Right: Premier Gordon Campbell, Toquaht First Nation Chief Bert Mack, Minister of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation Michael de Jong, Ucluelet First Nation Chief Vi Mundy, Uchucklesaht Tribe Chief Charlie Cootes, Huu-ay-aht Chief Robert Dennis, Senator Gerry St. Germain, and Ka:'yu:'k't'h'/Che:k'tles7et'h First Nations Chief Therese Smith. The canoe, carved by Nuu-chah-nulth master carver Joe Martin, was presented to the Maa-nulth First Nations on behalf of the people of British Columbia.
