HOSTING A TRADITIONAL POTLATCH - May 13, 2008
Victoria – Chief Frank Nelson from the Musgamagw Tsawataineuk (left) stands with members of the Ministry of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation's Aboriginal Relations Committee (ARC) which organized a ""Hosting a Traditional Potlatch"" educational event for Ministry staff. Chief Frank Nelson hosted the festivities at Wawadit'la Mungo Martin Big House and educated guests with information about different potlatches, protocols, songs, and dances. Chief Nelson also talked about traditional kinship relationships and explained how hereditary rights, privileges and title are handed down.
