- B.C., Coast Salish Nations, Tribes Honour Salish Sea – On July 15, 2010, B.C., Washington State and Coast Salish Nations celebrated the naming of the waterway that stretches from the south end of Puget Sound in Washington State to Desolation Sound at the north end of the Strait of Georgia in B.C., including the Juan de Fuca Strait. Similar to the Great Lakes, this umbrella-name will not change names already in place.
- B.C., Haida Nation Restore Name 'Haida Gwaii' to Islands – Premier Gordon Campbell and Minister of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation George Abbott joined with the Haida Nation Hereditary Chiefs and dignitaries for the Giving Back the Name With Respect Ceremony in Old Massett. At the ceremony the Haida Nation formally returned the name Queen Charlotte Islands and restored the name Haida Gwaii.
- Celebrating Four Host First Nations Day – Minister Abbott looks on as Premier Gordon Campbell reads the document proclaiming May 27th as Four Host First Nations Day. This day recognizes the accomplishments of the Four Host First Nations as hosts of the recently completed Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

B.C., Haida Celebrate the Haida Gwaii Reconcilliation Act – April 29, 2010
During a ceremony in Victoria, Hereditary Chiefs and dignitaries from the Haida Nation and the Province express their optimism following the introduction of provincial legislation to support shared decision making and officially restore the name Haida Gwaii to the Queen Charlotte Islands.
