EDUCATION MINISTER WELCOMES CLASS OF 2023
Sept 7, 2010 – Education Minister Margaret MacDiarmid went back to Kindergarten today to welcome the Class of 2023 to Walton Elementary in Coquitlam. She painted, did puzzles and joined in circle time on the first day of school for nearly 90 students – many of whom will participate in one of the first bilingual Mandarin programs in B.C. – to officially launch full-day kindergarten for 20,000 new students across the province.

COQUITLAM – Full-day kindergarten launched today for 20,000 new students, including nearly 90 young learners at Walton Elementary in Coquitlam, many of whom will be part of one of the first bilingual Mandarin programs in B.C., announced Education Minister Margaret MacDiarmid.

VICTORIA – Shelter Industries Inc. of Aldergrove has been selected to work with the Ministry of Education to construct new modular classrooms to implement full-day kindergarten in British Columbia.
