VANCOUVER – Speaking with British Columbia mayors, councillors, regional district directors and local government staff forms a large part of Community and Rural Development Minister Bill Bennett’s week during the annual convention of the Union of BC Municipalities. He’s pictured here addressing attendees of the Large Urban Forum at the start of the five-day annual event.

In addition to delivering half a dozen speeches to representatives from large urban centres, mid-sized communities and small towns during the five-day event, Minister Bennett held information sessions with electoral area directors and took part in a workshop on rural issues. Representatives of municipalities and regional districts also had a chance to bring community issues and views to the Minister’s attention during more than 60 face-to-face meetings held throughout the week.
