Freedom of Information - Request for General Records

“Record” includes books, documents, maps, drawings, photographs, letters, vouchers, papers and other thing on which information is recorded or stored by graphic, electronic, mechanical or other means, but does not include a computer program or any other mechanism that produces records. (definition as per Schedule 1 of the FOIPP Act)

An example of a request for general records may include information such as: copy of the agreement and or contract between ‘party x’ and the Province of British Columbia for services provided for the time period April 2008 – March 2009.

I am interested in submitting an application for general records or non-personal records in the control and/or custody of a Government of British Columbia Ministry or Agency as defined in Schedule 2 of the FOIPP Act

Applicants wishing to submit a request for access to records in the control and/or custody of other public bodies listed in Schedule 2 or Schedule 3 of the FOIPP Act must send their requests directly to those other public bodies.
