The TRIM service to ministries is provided by Shared Services BC. Technical application support is provided by Corporate Application Services and funded by a monthly TRIM user infrastructure fee. EDRMS TRIM Implementation Projects

WHO: Any BC government ministry, division, or branch can contact the IAO EDRMS Implementation Team to initiate a TRIM implementation project for the management of physical and/or electronic records. Agencies, boards and commissions or other non-BC government organizations are welcome to contact the IAO EDRMS Implementation Team so we can share information about what we have learned about TRIM; however, we do not offer implementation services to these organizations.

WHAT: The IAO EDRMS Implementation Team provides project management and subject matter specialist support for TRIM implementation projects for the management of physical and/or electronic records at no cost to the requesting ministry. Data migration costs, monthly TRIM user infrastructure fees, and any ministry project staff costs are the responsibility of the requesting ministry. The team is the single point of contact for access to all the necessary IAO services required for a successful TRIM implementation (except software installs and data migration available from Shared Services BC, CAS).

WHEN: The actual timing of TRIM projects is dictated by a number of factors: availability of IAO and Ministry staff, number of concurrent TRIM projects, and the size and complexity of your particular project. The IAO EDRMS Implementation Team supports projects on a a first come, first served basis; however, we manage multiple projects at a time. The IAO team will work with your business unit to schedule your project according to your business cycle, available ministry resources, and available IAO staff and resources. TRIM projects vary greatly in the time required. For example, if you are implementing TRIM in a single business unit for electronic records (less than 10 people) it might take 2-3 months, however, if you are implementing TRIM for electronic records for an entire ministry of over 500 people, it might take 2 years. The IAO Team will work with you to recommend a proposed project schedule appropriate to the scope of your project.

HOW: To initiate a TRIM project contact an IAO EDRMS Implementation Team member:
