Records Centre Services (RCS)

Records Management Operations establishes and manages contracts with private records storage centres to provide cost-effective and secure offsite storage and retrieval services for government agencies.  The contracted storage companies are bonded and insured and their storage facilities meet international, national, and Government of British Columbia standards for records storage.

Off-site records centre services include the transfer, storage, and retrieval of records; and their eventual disposition of either destruction or transfer to the custody of the government archives.  Where available, records viewing areas may also be provided.

Did you know?

  • Ministries must use RMO contracted records centres for offsite records storage.   
  • When your records are ready for transfer or disposition, contact your Records Officer for assistance.
