Government Records Service provides support to agencies, boards and commissions based upon a client’s status under the Document Disposal Act (DDA). It is considered that an office is covered by the DDA unless a legal opinion states otherwise.

Services for clients covered by the DDA include:

  • Records management advice,
  • Review of Operational Records Classification System and ARCS supplements for compliance with standards
  • Review of applications for off-site storage transfers

Services for clients not covered by the DDA:

  • Advisory services
  • In conjunction with the client, developing processes for managing records transferred to off-site storage
