FEDERAL, PROVINCIAL FUNDS SUPPORT VIBRANT COMMUNITIES
VICTORIA – More than 100 communities in B.C. will soon begin work on infrastructure projects that will improve their local environments, making them greener, more sustainable places to live, thanks to investments totalling $147 million from the Canada-B.C. Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund (CBCMRIF).

QUESNEL – Quesnel will receive almost $495,000 in LocalMotion funds to connect South Quesnel with the rest of the community’s trail system and also eventually link to the newly launched B.C. Spirit Square downtown, announced Premier Gordon Campbell.

QUESNEL – Residents of Quesnel are celebrating B.C.’s first completed Spirit Square, built to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Crown Colony of British Columbia.

BETTER COMMUNITIES WITH INFRASTRUCTURE PLANNING
VICTORIA – Sixty-six local governments will share almost $890,000 from the first round of the Province’s $2 million annual Infrastructure Planning Grant program, helping them to plan greener, healthier infrastructure, Community Services Minister Ida Chong announced.

TRAFFIC FINE TRANSFER CONTINUES TO SUPPORT COMMUNITIES
VICTORIA – The Province is returning more than $61 million in traffic fine revenue to local governments, helping municipalities to enhance their policing and community-based public safety programs, Community Services Minister Ida Chong announced.
