MERRITT WELCOMES WALKWAY IMPROVEMENTS
MERRITT – Upgrades to Voght Street Walkway enhance Merritt’s green infrastructure by improving a five-km connection between the city’s bike park, skateboard park and Rotary Park, and downtown and tourist attractions, said Community Development Minister Blair Lekstrom.

$272 MILLION FOR SMALLER BRITISH COLUMBIA COMMUNITIES
VICTORIA – For the first time, smaller British Columbia communities with populations of less than 100,000 can now access more funding for cleaner water, better waste management and flood mitigation thanks to a $272-million investment by the federal and provincial governments through the Building Canada Plan.

FEDERAL, PROVINCIAL FUNDS SUPPORT VIBRANT COMMUNITIES
VICTORIA – More than 100 communities in B.C. will soon begin work on infrastructure projects that will improve their local environments, making them greener, more sustainable places to live, thanks to investments totalling $147 million from the Canada-B.C. Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund (CBCMRIF).

PREMIER ANNOUNCES GRANT TO EXPAND QUESNEL TRAIL SYSTEM
QUESNEL – Quesnel will receive almost $495,000 in LocalMotion funds to connect South Quesnel with the rest of the community’s trail system and also eventually link to the newly launched B.C. Spirit Square downtown, announced Premier Gordon Campbell.
