Guideline for Members
Seven Hallmarks of Decision Quality
July 2008
The Tribunal is committed to devoting its best efforts to having Tribunal decisions comply reasonably with the following hallmarks of a good-quality adjudicative decision:
1. It treats each party equally and does not put one party to a greater test than the other.
2. It does not ignore or overlook relevant issues fairly raised by the facts.
3. It makes the evidence base for the panel’s decisions clear.
4. It makes the panel’s reasoning clear and understandable.
5. It meets reasonable standards of readability.
6. It confirms reasonably with the Tribunal’s decision template.
7. It conforms to Section 87(1) of the Employment and Assistance Regulation and applicable common law. |
