ALL- TIME HIGHS CONTINUE FOR MAJOR CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS IN B.C.
According to the June edition of the Major Projects Inventory, the number of major construction projects in B.C. has increased for the twentieth straight quarter with eight hundred and sixty-three major capital projects, worth an estimated record $169.7 billion, planned or underway in B.C. between April and June 2008.
The inventory, published quarterly, includes projects with a capital cost of at least $20 million within the Lower Mainland and projects valued at $15 million or more in the rest of B.C.

B.C. INCREASES CLEAN TECH INNOVATION VENTURE CAPITAL
VICTORIA – As of July 1, 2009, the annual tax credits available to investors in early-stage clean technology companies operating in B.C. will increase from $5 million to $7.5 million under the provincial government’s Venture Capital Programs, established to raise investment for small businesses developing new clean technologies.

TILMA READY TO INCLUDE LOCAL GOVERNMENTS
VICTORIA – British Columbia and Alberta have agreed to extend the Trade, Investment and Labour Mobility Agreement (TILMA) between the two provinces to cover municipalities, academic institutions, school boards, and health and social service providers (MASH), said Technology, Trade and Economic Development Minister Ida Chong. The TILMA will apply to local governments on April 1, 2009.

AGREEMENT WITH LOCAL GOVERNMENTS REACHED ON TILMA
VICTORIA – Technology, Trade and Economic Development Minister Ida Chong announced that the Province and the Union of British Columbia Municipalities (UBCM) have signed a joint letter of agreement formalizing the results of consultations with respect to the Trade, Investment and Labour Mobility Agreement (TILMA) between British Columbia and Alberta. The TILMA will apply to local governments on April 1, 2009.

15 PROJECTS HIGHLIGHT B.C.'S CLEAN ENERGY INNOVATION
VICTORIA – The Province is funding a suite of innovative clean energy projects throughout B.C., investing $25 million from the government’s Innovative Clean Energy (ICE) Fund, announced Technology, Trade and Economic Development Minister Ida Chong and Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources Minister Richard Neufeld.

The Ministry of Technology, Trade and Economic Development is the primary provincial agency for creating a strong, prosperous and diverse economy.
