Current Wildfire Situation and Conditions in B.C.

The Province is assisting local governments and First Nations to tackle fires throughout British Columbia by providing staff and resources to help with firefighting, Emergency Social Services and emergency management.

Health

  • Evacuees returning to their homes should visit the Interior Health website at www.interiorhealth.ca for information about food safety after power outages.
  • Returning residents who experience any prolonged power problems are asked to call 1-888-POWERON or *49376 on their cell phones. For more information visit BC Hydro online at www.bchydro.com.

Forest Fire Prevention

Visit www.bcwildfire.ca for tips on preventing forest fires and up-to-date wildfire information. The Wildfire Information Line is at 1-888-3FOREST (1-888-336-7378).

There is currently a campfire and open fire ban in effect for virtually the entire province.  Please beware of campfire and open fire bans and the Fire Danger Rating in your area.
