OIL AND GAS WEEK RECOGNIZES GROWING INDUSTRY
FORT ST. JOHN – The Province has proclaimed Oct. 5-11 as Oil and Gas Week in B.C. in recognition of the record-breaking year in positive revenue and industry growth, announced Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources Minister Richard Neufeld.

LIVESMART BC HELPS SMALL BUSINESS GO GREEN
VICTORIA – LiveSmart BC is encouraging small business to take action against climate change and is also partnering with BC Hydro to offer free energy assessments to small businesses, announced Kevin Krueger, Minister of Small Business and Revenue, and Richard Neufeld, Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources.

CLEAN ENERGY EFFICIENCY PROGRAM SUPPORTS 62 COMMUNITIES
PENTICTON – A total of $175,000 will support 10 communities selected to join the expanding Community Action on Energy and Emissions (CAEE) program, announced Richard Neufeld, Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources, Barry Penner, Minister of Environment, and Blair Lekstrom, Minister of Community Development.

COMMUNITIES AWARDED FUNDING TO EXPAND SOLAR PROJECTS
PENTICTON – Six communities have been awarded $20,000 to further develop solar hot water systems and other solar initiatives in an effort to conserve and promote clean energy throughout the province, Premier Gordon Campbell announced.

$22 MILLION FOR ENERGY EFFICIENCY RETROFITS
VICTORIA – The Province is investing almost $22 million for 74 energy efficiency retrofit projects in schools, colleges, hospitals, social housing, Crown buildings and other government buildings across the province under the Public Sector Energy Conservation Agreement, Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources Minister Richard Neufeld announced.

The Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources is the catalyst and facilitator for developing sustainable and competitive energy and mineral resource sectors for British Columbians.
