ENERGY PLAN TO CREATE INVESTMENT,
JOBS, PROSPERITY
The province's energy plan is designed to increase
investment in the energy sector and maintain low-cost electricity
and public ownership of BC Hydro.
The plan encourages investment
in energy development, including oil, gas, coal, coalbed methane,
and "clean" (alternative) energy sources; retains public
ownership of BC Hydro's reservoirs, wires and dams; and restores
an independent BC Utilities Commission to ensure BC Hydro rates
are set without political interference.
