Imperial Metals Corp (far right) during a tour of Mount Polley - 56 kilometres northeast of Williams Lake, between Polley and Bootjack Lakes. The open pit copper/gold mine was commissioned in 1997 and built by Imperial at a capital cost of $115 million. The operation recently had a re-opening ceremony where 260 colleagues, shareholders, brokers, financiers, employees and family joined in the celebration on September 16, 2005. MEMPR issued a permit amendment for development of the Southeast zone, on Thursday November 24, 2005, which could provide up to an additional 2.7 million tonnes of mill feed.
