NEW TAX CUTS FOR BRITISH COLUMBIANS BEGINNING JULY 1
VICTORIA – Starting tomorrow, British Columbians will pay less income tax thanks to tax cuts made possible by the revenue-neutral carbon tax, announced Finance Minister Colin Hansen.

NEW EMISSIONS DATA IMPACTS CARBON TAX RATES
VICTORIA – Environment Canada has updated the emission conversion factors for certain fuel types based on a technical review conducted by an expert panel over the past year. As a result, the Province has revised its carbon tax rates on various fuel types in advance of the implementation of the carbon tax.

BRITISH COLUMBIA AND ALBERTA IMPROVE INSURANCE ACTS
VICTORIA – The British Columbia and Alberta governments have introduced amendments to their insurance laws to enhance consumer protection and increase efficiencies for the insurance industry.

VICTORIA – British Columbia is the first province to implement a comprehensive, revenue-neutral carbon tax – an initiative that returns every dollar raised to the people and businesses of British Columbia as tax cuts, Finance Minister Carole Taylor announced.
