April 17, 2008 – Premier Gordon Campbell, Forests and Range Minister Rich Coleman, Kelowna-Lake Country MLA Al Horning, Kelowna Mayor Sharon Shepherd and pupils of Bankhead elementary school celebrated the planting of the six billionth tree in British Columbia since reforestation programs began in the 1930s. KELOWNA – Premier Gordon Campbell announced almost $25 million for reforestation, forest health initiatives and to market British Columbia’s forest products in B.C., across Canada and around the world at the Council of Forest Industries annual meeting.
