On July 18, 2006, Health Minister George Abbott took part in the announcement of 185 new residential care beds and 25 assisted living units for seniors in Victoria. Abbott announced that the contract to build and operate the facility, to be located near the Selkirk waterfront, has been awarded to Ahmon Group.
