On June 20, 2006, British Columbia's Minister of Health George Abbott and Washington State Secretary of Health Mary C. Seleky signed an historic Memorandum of Understanding. This memorandum will allow for the province and state to undertake joint planning and sharing of resources to address public health emergencies, such as West Nile virus and pandemic influenza.
