Rod Edwards of the Taoist Tai Chi Society of Canada leads a Tai Chi session on the Legislature front lawns on May 12, 2008 as part of Hypertension Awareness Week. Behind Edwards is Health Minister George Abbott, Minister of State for ActNow BC Gordon Hogg and Bobbe Wood, president and CEO of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC and Yukon.
Regular recreational activities such as Tai Chi can help British Columbians reduce stress levels, which can cause hypertension, a condition more commonly known as persistent high blood pressure. [News release]
