MINISTER POLAK AND UNITED WAY TEAM UP TO HELP SENIORS

On April 6, 2009, Minister Mary Polak and Michael McKnight of the United Way of the Lower Mainland formed a partnership to implement a pilot program to help seniors live longer in their own homes. The initiative
follows through on a key recommendation from the Premier’s Council on Aging and Seniors’ Issues and is part of Seniors in British Columbia: A Healthy Living Framework, where government committed to explore innovative and sustainable models to provide non-medical home support services.
