BASEBALL ALL-STAR HONOURED AS PART OF SPORT BC ATHLETE OF THE YEAR AWARDS
March 24, 2009On March 24, Minister Polak presented the Best of BC Award to Justin Morneau's father George, who attended the annual Sport BC Athlete of the Year Awards on behalf of his son. The awards recognize the contributions of British Columbians in the sporting community and the Best of BC Award is a special meritorious award for extraordinary athletic performance by a professional or amateur athlete. Considered one of the best first basemen in Major League Baseball, Justin accepted the award via video link from Miami, where he's training with his team, the Minnesota Twins.
