Intergovernmental and International Relations

Intergovernmental and International Relations provides advice and analysis to the Premier and cabinet ministers  to advance British Columbia's interests with Canada and other provinces and territories, with the United States, and in the Asia-Pacific region as well as in other countries.

With Canada and other Provinces/Territories, we:

 

Advance British Columbia's interests with the federal government and within the Canadian federation
   
 

Engage the federal government in achieving B.C. priorities and works with other ministers to engage the federal government on ensuring policy outcomes
   
 

Build partnerships with other provinces through regional cooperation such as joint Cabinet meetings with Alberta and Saskatchewan, and multilateral cooperation on shared priorities at the Council of the Federation and the Western Premiers’ Conference
