The B.C. government is investing in a range of infrastructure projects that will create jobs and benefit local communities.

 

Currently, projects in the Cariboo region are expected to generate an estimated 342 jobs.

Horse Lake and Canim Lake Water System Improvements Cariboo Regional District Cariboo Regional District will receive $1 million to upgrade the water systems in Horse Lake and Canim Lake. $1.0M Planning underway Communities
Wells Water Treatment Plant Wells Wells will receive $379,984 in federal and provincial Towns for Tomorrow funding to build the Wells Water Treatment Plant project, which will directly benefit 550 residents. $379,984 Spring 2009 Communities
Clinton Memorial Hall Expansion/Upgrade Clinton The Village of Clinton will receive $168,342 in provincial funding from the Towns for Tomorrow program for the Clinton Memorial Hall Expansion/Upgrade project, which includes replacement of the building's foundation and installation of new kitchen and stage equipment. The installation of acoustic upgrade materials, a large video projector screen, new sound equipment, modern efficient lighting and two new furnaces will increase the opportunities for hall use. $168,342 Summer 2009 Communities
Highway 97 Improvements – Cariboo Connector Williams Lake An investment of more than $20 million will be made to improve Highway 97. The projects on the Cariboo Connector include four-laning a section of Highway 97 between 148 Mile and Likely Road, in 150 Mile House and paving Highway 97 from 150 Mile House to Hinsche Road. $20M Planning underway Transportation
Highway Improvements – South Cariboo 100 Mile House An investment of $25 million will be made to improve highways in the South Cariboo. Projects include realigning and four-laning a section of Highway 97 through Cargyle Curves, south of Clinton, four-laning a section Highway 97 south of Bullock Lake Road, south of 100 Mile House, four-laning and intersection improvements at 59-Mile North on Highway 97, north of Clinton, and paving Highway 24 between Highway 97 and Lone Butte. $25M Planning underway Transportation
Water System Upgrades 100 Mile House 100 Mile House will receive $297,600 in federal and provincial funding through the Towns for Tomorrow program to upgrade the local water system to allow for the installation of two UV disinfection units. $297,600 Fall 2009 Communities
Cariboo Senior's Rental Housing Initiative Cariboo The Cariboo will receive $5.4 million in federal and provincial funding to create 26 units of housing for seniors and persons with disabilities under the new Senior's Rental Housing Initiative. $5.4M Spring 2009 Housing
