Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements Creston Town of Creston will receive $3.14 million to upgrade the community's sewage treatment plant. The existing treatment plant, which is over 30 years old, serves almost the entire the population of Creston, including major employers. The funding will support upgrades to the existing wastewater treatment plant so it meets provincial and federal regulatory standards. $3.14M Planning underway Communities

River Trail Revelstoke Revelstoke will receive $49,967 in federal and provincial LocalMotion funding for the completion of the city's River Trail. Road Upgrades Invermere Invermere is receiving $400,000 in federal and provincial Towns for Tomorrow funding to revitalize 7th Avenue between 6th and 9th Street, creating a pedestrian corridor between Invermere's downtown and the Pothole Park Spirit Square. $400,000 Planning underway Communities
Westside Pathway System Invermere Invermere will receive $198,966 in federal and provincial LocalMotion funding for the Westside Pathway system (10 fitness stations, bike lanes, new sidewalk). Civic Centre Redevelopment Golden Golden is receiving $400,000 in federal and provincial Towns for Tomorrow funding for the Civic Centre Redevelopment project. New Fire Hall Radium Hot Springs Radium is receiving $400,000 in federal and provincial Towns for Tomorrow funding to build a new fire hall. $400,000 Planning underway Communities
NW Reservoir / James White Well Fernie City of Fernie will receive $4.8 million for a new reservoir, which will improve the reliability of the drinking water system. Topping Creek Intake Replacement, Phase 2 Rossland City of Rossland will receive $400,000 in federal and provincial Towns for Tomorrow funding for phase two of a project that will provide a secure water source while protecting the aquatic environment by allowing fish to pass downstream. $400,000 Planning underway Communities
Centre Star Gulch Trail Rossland City of Rossland will receive $20,425 in federal and provincial LocalMotion funding to construct the Centre Star Gulch trail, to connect with a popular existing trail. This project will link downtown Rossland with existing trails. $20,425 Summer 2009 Communities

Violin Lake Recreation Plan Trail The City of Trail is receiving $375,000 in federal and provincial Towns for Tomorrow funding for work in the Violin Lake area. This project involves upgrades to road access, construction of a 10 km trail, creation of trailhead access, as well as upgrades to camping and day use areas. $375,000 Spring 2009 Communities
5th Street and 7th Avenue Walkways Castlegar The City of Castlegar will receive $461,000 in federal and provincial LocalMotion funding to build a sidewalk connecting residential areas with three schools, the downtown core, the hospital, three seniors facilities and local churches and parks, including the linear Millennium Park along the Columbia River. $461,000 Spring 2009 Communities
Hazard Beacon Project (Castlegar Airport Night Aircraft Operations) Castlegar The City of Castlegar will receive $356,250 in federal and provincial Towns for Tomorrow funding for hazard beacons at the airport, which will allow for night-time emergency flights. $356,250 Planning underway Communities
Christina Living Arts Centre – Living Machine Kootenay Boundary Regional District The Kootenay Boundary Regional District will receive $320,000 in federal and provincial Towns for Tomorrow funding for the Christina Living Arts Centre – Living Machine project, which will cleanse wastewater and sewage from the Living Arts Centre and RVs in the area by mimicking a wetland system. $320,000 Spring 2009 Communities
Highway 1 improvements Revelstoke The Clanwilliam Bridge project involves the reconstruction of 2.3 kilometres of the Trans-Canada Highway from two lanes to four lanes and replaces the two-lane bridge with a new four-lane structure 10 kilometres west of Revelstoke. Highway 1 improvements Golden The Donald Bridges project will upgrade approximately four kilometres of the Trans-Canada Highway from two lanes to four lanes with the construction of a new four-lane Donald Bridge over the Columbia River, and a new four-lane Donald Overhead Bridge that crosses the Canadian Pacific Rail line. $63.0M Planning underway Transportation
Library Expansion Kimberley Kimberley library receives $369,939 in federal and provincial Towns for Tomorrow funding to upgrade and expand. 16th Avenue Sidewalk Creston Creston will receive $117,450 in federal and provincial funding from the LocalMotion program to install 900 metres of sidewalk on 16th Avenue from Canyon Street, north to Scott Road and then on to the proposed Highway 3 bypass and Arrow Mountain. $117,450 Summer 2009 Communities
