PROVINCE, KELOWNA PARTNER TO FOUR–LANE HIGHWAY 33
April 1, 2009 – The Province and the City of Kelowna will partner on a $23.5-million project to widen Highway 33 to four lanes between Muir Road and Gallagher Road. At the announcement were Kelowna-Lake Country MLA Al Horning, Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Kevin Falcon and Kelowna Mayor Sharon Shepherd.

March 18, 2009 – Okanagan-Westside MLA Rick Thorpe and Penticton-Okangan Valley MLA Bill Barisoff with Peachland representatives Mayor Keith Fielding, and councillors Ernie Hurd, Vern Moberg, Terry Condon and Peter Schierbeck at the announcement of funding for the Turner Avenue sidewalk improvements project.

March 18, 2009 – Okanagan-Westside MLA Rick Thorpe and Penticton-Okangan Valley MLA Bill Barisoff with Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen Dan Ashton at the announcement for funding of the Faulder Water Well project, which includes drilling a well and installing a pump to address the aquifer's declining water levels.

$915K INVESTMENT IN SUMMERLAND INFRASTRUCTURE, SERVICES
March 17, 2009 – Okanagan-Westside MLA Rick Thorpe and Penticton-Okangan Valley MLA Bill Barisoff with Summerland Mayor Janice Perrino and RCMP Officer Mona Kaufman at the announcement of funding for the construction of a new building to house the RCMP detachment.

$546K FUNDING SUPPORTS CENTRAL OKANAGAN R.D.
March 17, 2009 – Joining MLA Rick Thorpe at Fintry for the announcement of funding for the North Westside Water Supply and Well Construction project were Delphine Maja of the Regional District of the Central Okanagan (RDCO), Jim Edgson, RDCO Regional Director Central Okanagan West, Robert Hobson, RDCO Board chair; and Tammy Kramer of the Valley of the Sun, Shalal Road and Upper Fintry and the Resident's Water Committee.

OVER $185,000 FOR WEST KELOWNA PROJECTS, SERVICES
March 17, 2009 – Okanagan-Westside MLA Rick Thorpe and West Kelowna Mayor Doug Findlater review the waterfront masterplan for the Gellatly Bay Recreation Corridor Improvement Project, which includes the construction of a cycling path and pedestrian walkway.
