Public Sector Energy Conservation Agreement (PSECA)

The Public Sector Energy Conservation Agreement (PSECA) between BC Hydro and the Province funds building retrofits to achieve a significant reduction in provincial energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Through PSECA, B.C. is targeting a 20 percent reduction in public sector electricity consumption by 2020 – or enough electricity savings to power more than 34,000 homes.

Public buildings around the province will undergo energy assessments to identify opportunities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and meet 65 per cent of incremental energy needs through conservation and the use of alternative energy options.

Learn more about the agreement and read the news release online.

BC’s public sector plays a key role in helping British Columbians become leaders in conservation and energy efficiency, and we encourage you to participate in making PSECA a reality.
