HAIDA HOMECOMING CAMP
Minister Tom Christensen joined members of Haida Child and Family Services on the Queen Charlotte Islands/Haida Gwaii for a four-day Coming Home Camp for Haida children living with foster parents and caregivers around the province. Coming Home Camps reconnect Aboriginal children in care with their territorial lands, communities, culture and traditions.
The camp involved some 55 children of Haida ancestry - ranging in age from two to 18 - along with their social workers, caregivers and extended family members of the Haida Gwaii. [More photos]
