$1.8 MILLION FOR 18 ACTNOW BC SENIORS COMMUNITY PARKS
September 23, 2008

On September 23, 2008 at the Union of British Columbia Muncipalities convention in Penticton, Minister Polak announced $1.8 million for 18 ActNow BC Seniors Community Parks to be located throughout the province. She was joined by Kelowna mayor Sharon Shepherd (far right), Penticton-Okanagan MLA Bill Barisoff and Harry Caine (far left), who championed the Lions Wellness Park in Tsawwassen.
Following through on a commitment from the 2008 throne speech, the ActNow BC Seniors Community Parks are designed to help older adults stay mobile, physically active and healthy in their communities.
