2008-09-23 - On September 23, 2008 at the Union of British Columbia Muncipalities convention in Penticton, Minister Polak announced $1.8 million for 18 ActNow BC Seniors Community Parks to be located throughout the province. She was joined by Kelowna mayor Sharon Shepherd (far right), Penticton-Okanagan MLA Bill Barisoff and Harry Caine (far left), who championed the Lions Wellness Park in Tsawwassen. Following through on a commitment from the 2008 throne speech, the ActNow BC Seniors Community Parks are designed to help older adults stay mobile, physically active and healthy in their communities.
2008-09-23 - Minister Polak tries physical activity equipment during the launch of the ActNow BC Seniors Community Parks, which will be located throughout the province in 18 communities. Following through on a commitment from the 2008 throne speech, the ActNow BC Seniors Community Parks are designed to help older adults stay mobile, physically active and healthy in their communities.

2008-09-20 - Minister Polak presented the Coaches Association of BC Coach of the Year (Recreational/Grassroots) Award to Chris Webster of Quesnel at the British Columbia Coaches Week Coaching Conference.
