UNIQUE MOBILE LAB TO UNLOCK B.C.'S BONE-HEALTH SECRETS

Minister of Healthy Living and Sport Ida Chong unveiled the Centre for Hip Health and Mobility's mobile research lab, the first mobile lab of its kind in Canada, which is dedicated to better understanding mobility and bone health across the lifespan.

The measurement tool, part of the newly mobile lab project of the Centre for Hip Health and Mobility unveiled August 7 at Vancouver General Hospital, will travel across the Lower Mainland and province to collect information on mobility and bone health.

The mobile lab's tour was launched in Vancouver at Vancouver General Hospital in August 2009 and will travel across the province, reaching previously unstudied populations of seniors and youth. The information collected will identify trends in bone health and mobility across the lifespan.
