2009-11-03 - On November 3, 2009, Mary McNeil, Minister of State for the Olympics and ActNow BC, attended the Victoria tour stop of the Centre for Hip Health and Mobility's mobile research lab, the first of its kind in Canada. The mobile lab's tour was launched in Vancouver at Vancouver General Hospital in August 2009 and will travel across the province, reaching previously unstudied populations of seniors and youth. The information collected will identify trends in bone health and mobility across the lifespan.
2009-10-30 - On Oct. 30, Minister Chong joined thousands of people in Victoria for the launch of the Olympic Torch Relay, which is a journey across Canada to light the way for the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. It will last 105 days, will cover 45,000 kilometres and will directly pass through over a thousand communities across Canada.
