BC Employment and Assistance (BCEA) Application - Stage 1

Overview: October 22, 2007

Effective: October 22, 2007

The application process encompasses two stages.  During the first stage, applicants are assessed as to whether they are required to complete a three-week work search or if they are exempt from this requirement. Applicants who are not exempt must complete a reasonable work search for a three-week period before their eligibility for assistance can be determined. Applicants who are exempt from this initial work search requirement can proceed directly to Stage 2 of the application process.

This requirement applies to applicants under the Employment and Assistance Regulation and Employment and Assistance for Persons with Disabilities Regulation.
