Employment Planning and Exemptions

Overview

Effective: April 02, 2012

Under the BC Employment and Assistance Program (BCEA), employable clients are expected to participate in employment related activities for the purpose of achieving financial independence.  The Employment Planning and Exemptions Category provides information about tools that facilitate employability assessment and employment planning.

The tools include:

  • The Employment Readiness Information Questionnaire (ERIQ) - assists in identifying whether client barriers to employment exist.  The ERIQ is used to collect standardized employment readiness information from applicants and existing clients.
  • The Employability Screen – to identify clients who are expected to work and to assist in identifying specific barriers to employment
  • The Client Employability Profile – to determine the nature and severity of clients’ personal barriers to employment
  • Employment Plan – to outline employment objectives for clients and identify interventions, expected outcomes, and compliance requirements
  • Voluntary Participation Plan – to define independence-related activities for clients who are exempt from employment-related obligations

The Employment Planning and Exemptions category also provides information about assessment and designation of clients who have temporary exemptions from employment obligations or have persistent multiple barriers to employment.

Detailed information is available by clicking on the appropriate topic within the Employment Planning and Exemptions Category (left hand menu).
