Client Employability Profile

Overview

Effective: December 01, 2003

The Client Employability Profile (“Profile”) is an employment-planning tool used by ministry staff to identify a client’s personal barriers to employment and to determine the nature and severity of those barriers. The Client Employability Profile is used to assist with the following:

  • the development of a client’s Employment Plan (EP) or Voluntary Participation Plan (VPP) by identifying both of the following:

    • whether barriers to employment exist and to determine the degree or severity of the barrier

    • employment-related program or service referrals most appropriate to the client’s specific needs and abilities

  • the EP or VPP review process by reassessing client progress towards resolving barriers, determining their nature and severity and how each may be addressed; and

  • the identification of potential Persons with Persistent Multiple Barriers (PPMB)

The completion of the Profile is mandatory for those clients who are designated as “employable with longer-term intervention” on the Employability Screen. However, ministry staff may use the Profile whenever necessary, regardless of clients’ Employability Screen scores.
