Medical Equipment and Devices

Effective: September 27, 2010
The least expensive, appropriate medical equipment and devices may be provided to specific recipients to assist with a medically essential need. There must be no other resources available to the client to provide the medical equipment requested.
The ministry provides medical equipment and devices under the Employment and Assistance Regulation and the Employment and Assistance for Persons with Disabilities Regulation.

Equipment and Assistive Technology Initiative
Individuals who have a disability and an employment goal, and who are eligible to participate in LMA programs (unemployed and not eligible for EI or reachback benefits OR employed, low-skilled and wanting to upgrade their skills) may be able to obtain assistive technology through the Equipment and Assistive Technology Initiative (EATI).
