Medical Services Only (MSO)

Overview: September 27, 2010

Through Medical Services Only (MSO), the ministry provides specific health supplements to certain categories of former recipients of assistance.

One of the major goals of MSO is to assist recipients with barriers to obtain and maintain employment by allowing them to retain their premium-assisted Medical Services Plan coverage as well as general health supplements as they move from income assistance or disability assistance into financial independence.

Equipment and Assistive Technology Initiative

Individuals who have a disability and an employment goal, and who are eligible to participate in Labour Market Attachment programs (unemployed and not eligible for EI or reachback benefits OR employed, low-skilled and wanting to upgrade their skills) may be able to obtain assistive technology through the Equipment and Assistive Technology Initiative (EATI).
