From time to time the Conflict of Interest Commissioner has issued memoranda and ethics bulletins to all Members of the Legislative Assembly of BC. The purpose has been to explain to Members the Commissioner’s approach to the Members’ Conflict of Interest Act and the interpretation given, from time to time, of the obligations contained in the Act. The material is intended to provide information and assistance to Members in dealing with their obligations under the Act.

While intended to be a useful guide for compliance, the suggestions contained in the material are typically generic and formal opinions and decisions of the Commissioner will, of course, be made on a case-by-case basis as is appropriate in the particular circumstances.
