PROCEEDS OF CRIME TO AID PREVENTION EFFORTS, VICTIMS
Solicitor General John Les was joined by Claude Richmond, Minister of Employment and Income Assistance, to announce that $500,000 from proceeds of civil forfeiture actions will be made available to community groups working to help prevent and address the effects of local crime. B.C. communities and organizations may apply for grants of up to $20,000 toward community safety projects. [News release]

Solicitor General John Les, Delta chief constable Jim Cessford, Minister of Employment and Income Assistance Claude Richmond, executive director of B.C. Victim Services and Crime Prevention Susanne Dahlin, Saanich deputy chief Mike Chadwick and Delta South MLA Val Roddick display the cheque representing the total value of grants from civil forfeiture proceeds that will be available to communities and local organizations.
