BUTTERWORTH COTTAGE RECEIVES $25,000 TOWARDS REHABILITATION

September 18, 2008, Minister Bennett attends a BC150 event at Government House celebrating the rehabilitation of Butterworth Cottage, part of the Cary Castle Mews Project. The Heritage Branch of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts provided $25,000 towards the rehabilitation project.

Minister Bennett and The Lieutenant Governor are shown a picture of the original Cary Castle by Brian Rogers, President of the Friends of Government House. Cary Castle, built in 1860, became the first Vice-Regal residence on the grounds in 1864.
