Nanaimo-Parksville MLA Ron Cantelon presents the B.C. Heritage Award to Dr. Harold (Hal) Kalman for his outstanding long-term contribution to B.C. heritage. Mr. Cantelon presented the award in Nanaimo on behalf of Tourism, Sport and the Arts Minister Olga Ilich. A $10,000 grant was also provided to the Cultural Resource Management Program at the University of Victoria on Dr. Kalman's behalf. That grant was matched by Dr. Kalman and his wife Linda, and UVIC also contributed $20,000 to the program.
