VANCOUVER - First Nations artwork will greet visitors to BC Canada Place at the 2006 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Torino, Italy with the carved doors created by Squamish artist tawx'sin yexwulla, Aaron Nelson-Moody and unveiled by Premier Gordon Campbell, November, 29, 2005. Minister for Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation, Tom Christensen, and Economic Development Minister, Colin Hansen join Aaron Nelson-Moody at the unveiling ceremony.
VANCOUVER - Minister Colin Hansen was the Master of Ceremonies for the official unveiling and blessing of the doors for BC Canada Place. Honoured guests and speakers for the event: Premier Gordon Campbell, Minister Tom Christensen, Minister for Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation, Chief Leonard Andrew, Lil'Wat Nation, Chief Ernest Campbell, Musqueam Nation, Chief Bill Williams, Squamish Nation, Chief Leah George-Wilson, Tsleil-Waututh Nation, Elder Larry Grant, Musquam Nation, and Aaron Nelson-Moody, Carver, Squamish Nation.
VANCOUVER - Squamish artist tawx'sin yexwulla, Aaron Nelson-Moody designed the doors to be the entrance to BC Canada Place. The essential figure is a sun design. The sun tracks across the sky like an eagle and looks down on the soul of humanity as one. It doesn't see different borders or different cultures or languages, but sees humanity as one people.
